IN LOVING MEMORY

Bernadine DuPree

Aug 04 1927 - Jan 04 2015

On Sunday morning, January 4, 2015, I awoke to Jesus sweetly calling my name.  He invited me to come and be a guest in His house, and I gladly accepted.  I was able, He said to take on my Heavenly body and leave my tired one behind.  I stood present before our Holy Lord and Savior.  He called me to stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy to the only God.

August 4, 1927, Bernadine DuPree awoke to the world in Arcadia, Louisiana and to her earthly family.  As a classic middle child in a family of nine siblings, she was in no way a shy, shrinking violet.  But rather a tiger lily – showy, bright, fiery and magnificent!  Some of the symbolic meanings of a lily are hope, faith, renewal, promise, motherhood, remembrance and transitioning.  She definitely embodied the fleur de naissance.  With its three petals, the lily is often considered a trinity symbol holding the representation of the three virtues: charity, hope and faith.

She leaves to mourn her passing Saundra and Danny (children); Justen, Roslyn and Felicia, grandchildren; great grandsons, Aerius and Jamere, Emma Walker of Cedar Hill, Texas and Josephine Buchanan of Arcadia, Louisiana (sisters); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Bernadine is preceded in her glory by Jessie and Dexter, and her parents Frank and Clara DuPree.

We humbly express our sincere gratitude to our Settler’s Ridge Care Center Family, St. Phillips Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and all who knew and will miss her as we do.

Please feel free to make a charitable donation in her memory to: American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA  22312 or http://www.diabetes.org/.
