Our beloved father Bennie Paul Harrelson, age 90, of Murphy, Texas, passed away June 22, 2011, in Garland. Bennie was born November 6, 1920, in Princeton, Texas, to Althie Malon and Ester (West) Harrelson. He married Retha Opal Rice on August 19, 1939, in Princeton, Texas. Bennie grew up in Collin County where he was a lifetime resident. He was a member of Garland CB club where his handle was “Old Noisy”. Bennie worked at the Princeton Cotton Gin and was the owner of Sachse Feed Store. He worked for LTV Corporation and later retired from Consolidated Maintenance of Dallas, Texas where he worked for over 25 years. Bennie was a member of First Baptist Church, Princeton, Texas. He is survived by his son, Bennie Don Harrelson and wife Judy of Garland, Texas; daughter, Linda Lewis and husband Billy of Sachse, Texas; grandchildren, Rodney Lewis, Scott Hudson, Ryan Grones; great grandchildren, Jeremy Lewis, Jacob Grones and Ethan Grones; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ester and Althie Harrelson, wife, Retha Opal Harrelson, brother, James Donald Harrelson and sister, Melba Terrell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. James Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
