Beatrice Flatt Price, age 102, of Ben Wheeler, Texas, passed away April 11, 2012, in Athens, Texas. Mrs. Price was born May 26, 1909, in McKinney, Texas, to Lewis A. and Bessie Jayne (Yaw) Flatt. She grew up in McKinney and later, as a young woman, moved to Dallas. Mrs. Price worked as a professional seamstress for Lorch-Westway. She loved gardening and farming. Mrs. Price was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Glenna Sue Strickland of Ben Wheeler, Texas, Carol Lynn Eckerman and husband, Kelan of Palestine, Texas, and Cynthia Sharlene Box and husband, Travis of Murchison, Texas; daughter, Jessie Price and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; beloved children and their families of Louise Faulkner; brother, Leon “Bully” Flatt and wife, Claire of Antlers, Oklahoma; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, Doyle Curtis Strickland, daughter-in-law, Joyce Marie Strickland, brothers, Bunk Flatt and Bro. Weldon Flatt, sister, Evelyn Flatt Beene, and granddaughter, Beatrice Kay Franks.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
