Beatrice Ann Haras passed away May 23, 2008 in Plano, Texas. Bea was born January 26, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents Roman and Adeline Szatkowski Skarbek and her brother Herbert Skarbek. Bea lived in Erie, PA from 1971 to 2007 before moving to Plano. Before retirement she worked for Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association and R.M. Kerner Co. in Erie. After retirement she was very active with the Erie Senior Center where she sang in the choir and was their emcee. At the Plano Senior Center she was the director of the kazoo band which greeted the troops returning home from overseas at the local airports. She is survived by her four loving children, Mark Haras of Erie; Paul Harris of Rockville, Maryland; John Haras and his wife Arni of Grapevine, Texas and Diane Frawley and her husband Mike of Plano, Texas, as well as her six grandchildren; Zachary, Kaitlin, Christopher, Rachel, Gillian and Sam, and her two sisters Marietta Hopkins and Cecelia Ryan, who knew her as “Peachy”.
