Barbara Joyce Sumners, age 76, of McKinney, Texas, passed away September 24, 2014. She was born September 15, 1938 in Pilot Point, Texas, to Lewis and Rheba (Manry) Hawkins. On August 30, 1958, Barbara married Billie Dee Sumners in Dallas, Texas. She was very active with the American Red Cross and she loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Billie Dee Sumners; children, Amy Dee Blackwell and husband Michael of Edmond, Oklahoma, Tyler Sumners of Midland, Texas and Lee Ann Walker of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Adam Jekel, Silas Walker, Holly Blackwell, Jonas Walker and Robert Sumners; brother, Lewis Wayne Hawkins of Oak Cliff, Texas; and sister, Virginia Kay Duwe of Junction, Texas.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Rheba Hawkins.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
