Barbara Jean Patterson, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 8, 2015. Barbara was born December 4, 1937, in White City, Kansas, to Herbert Sandy and Florence Annetta (Gustafson) Hickey. She married Marlin Lee Patterson on April 13, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. Barbara moved as a small girl to Vallejo, California where she grew up and attended school. She was a secretary for a colonel where she met her husband while he was in the military. They moved to Texas in 1963 where she later became a real estate agent. Barbara loved spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney.
She is survived by her children, Marlin Kent Patterson and wife, Amy of Boerne, Texas, Allen Brett Patterson of Rockwall, Texas, and Leah Jean Berlin and husband, Marvin of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Candace Nichole Middleton and husband, Todd, Lindsey Leann Blackman and husband, Payton, Lacee Layne Windham and husband, Lucas, Annalee Victoria Berlin, Victoria Faith Berlin, Victoria Allison Thorne, and Alexandria Nicole Thorne; and great-grandson, Cash David Middleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marlin Lee Patterson, and brothers, Lloyd Hickey and Arthur Hickey.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Jeff Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
