Barbara Ann Knoll

Barbara Ann Knoll, age 73, of Melissa, Texas, passed away July 7, 2013 in Melissa, Texas. She was born August 25, 1939 to Odis Cooley and Bonnie Louise Bunch Goggans in Shreveport, Louisiana. Barbara married William Henry Knoll on June 3, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was a military housewife. Her and her three children lived in Japan and other military basis all over the United States until her first husband retired from the Navy. Once she married William Knoll, they enjoyed traveling the world together visiting places such as Europe, Thailand, and India. They settled in Saudi Arabia for ten years until Desert Storm in the early 1990's. She would always come back twice a year to see her children and grandchildren who she cherished. Once back in the states, Barbara and William resided in Pearland, Texas where she loved working in the yard, family barbeques, and sitting on her porch talking with neighbors. In 2004, Barbara and William decided to move to Melissa, Texas to live with her daughter and family. She loved going to the casinos in Oklahoma and taking trips to Louisiana and Mississippi to visit with family. Family was Barbara's priority and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything. She will be missed by many. Barbara was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Hawk of Baytown, Texas and Sherry Martin of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Tucker, Jason Martin, Crystal Tucker, John Martin, Bobby Walker, Sarah Martin Gosdin and husband, Matthew, Travis Walker, and Samantha Walker; great-grandchildren, Alexis Tucker, Jonathon West, Ryan Tucker, Payton Martin, Taylor Walker, Lyndsey Walker, Waylon Nieves, and one great-grandchild due early 2014; siblings, Bobbie Faye Muchmore, Phillip Omni, Bonnie Bailey, and Jack Goggans.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Odis Cooley and Bonnie Goggans; husband, William Knoll; son, Randall Walker; and sister, Patricia Woodley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
