Barbara Sue Ketner, age 62, of McKinney, Texas went home to her precious Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 10, 1942, in Collin County, Texas to Earl and Elva Bothwell Newby. On August 18, 1956, she married Wilford “Bill” Ketner in Durant, Oklahoma. Barbara was a member of the Melissa Church of God, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was a dearly loved daughter, wife, mother, sister and aunt, who blessed the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her dear husband, Wilford “Bill” Ketner of McKinney; mother, Elva Newby; children, Barbara Kathleen Clayton of Plano, Texas, Becky Lynn Morris and husband, James of Princeton, Texas and Cynthia K. Hurley of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren, David Wayne Morris and wife, Kristen of Blue Ridge, Texas; Lamanda Jo Atkins of McKinney, Eric Daniel Morris and wife, Patricia Lynn of Blue Ridge, and Kristen Lynn Morris of Princeton; great grandchildren, Felicia Nicole Morris and Christian Tyler Morris; sister, Evelyn Montgomery and husband, Rev. Kelly of McKinney; sisters, Wanda Brooke of Princeton and Carolyn Burk of Arlington; brother, Larry Newby and wife, Ann of Palmer, Texas; aunts, Alice Jameson of Aubrey, Texas and Ruby Kays of Garland; uncles, Arthur Bothwell and Roy Bothwell both of Denton, Texas; and nieces, nephews and other relatives who loved her dearly. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Kelly Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
