Barbara Hutchinson Eckenrode, age 83, of McKinney, Texas passed away November 11, 2012. She was born April 28, 1929 in Pecos, Texas to Johnie Hutchinson and Floye (Ward) Hutchinson. On August 22, 1948 Barbara married Raymond Charles Eckenrode in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by daughter, Terese Eckenrode Gibson of McKinney, Texas; sons, Bruce Eckenrode and wife, Angela of McKinney, Texas, Ray Eckenrode and wife, Marilyn of McKinney, Texas, James Eckenrode and wife, Leslie of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Raymond Eckenrode and wife, Megan of McKinney, Texas, Christopher Eckenrode and wife, Shelly of McKinney, Texas and Nicholas Eckenrode of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Caitlin Gibson of Dallas, Texas, Brittany Eckenrode of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Eckenrode of McKinney, Texas and Jennifer Eckenrode of McKinney, Texas; four great-grandchildren; sister, Lee Battey of Floydada, Texas; brothers, Jack Hutchinson of Colorado, Jerry Hutchinson and wife, Cheryl of Nashville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and her sister, Helen Wright.
She also leaves behind a host of friends and her church family at St. Gabriel of McKinney. She was loved and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, McKinney, Texas with Father Greg Kelly Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
