Barbara Jean Carpenter, age 61, of Frisco, Texas passed away April 14, 2004, at her home. She was born September 8, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Chester E. and Orlene (Crouse) Johnson. On November 29, 1986, she married J.W. Carpenter, Jr. in Prosper, Texas. Mrs. Carpenter was in the land title business in Frisco for 20 years. She was owner of Metroplex Title, where she also worked as an Escrow Officer. She was a former Republican Party Precinct Chair, former Frisco City Council Women, former chair and longtime board member of YMCA Frisco, and former president and longtime member of the Frisco Rotary Club. She was an avid gardener and a member of St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas. She is survived by her husband, J.W. Carpenter, Jr. of Frisco, Texas; son, Chris Kitterman of Franklin, Tennessee; daughters, Lisa Kitterman Cohen of New York City, New York and Leslie Hendrix of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Avery Kitterman, Jordan Kitterman, Brett Hendrix, Alison Hendrix, Elijah Cohen and Elliot Cohen; mother, Orlene Johnson of Leawood, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Johnson; and brother, Christopher Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2004, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco with Rev. Msgr. Leon Duesman officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 8900 Carpenter Frwy., Dallas, Texas 75247.
