Barbara Ann Britton, age 71, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 5, 2015, in McKinney, Texas. Barbara was born September 12, 1943, in Florence Hill, Texas, to Clarence and Leona (Adair) Brown. She married Jim Britton on June 6, 1964, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Barbara received a degree as a registered nurse at Southern Methodist University and later received a BBA from East Texas State University. She was an executive underwriter with Blue Cross/Blue Shield for twenty-three years. Barbara enjoyed quilting, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Blake Britton and wife, Michelle of Prosper, Texas and Brad Britton and wife, Lauri of Corinth, Texas; grandchildren, Bryanna, Madison, and Haley; and brother, Rene Brown of Kerrville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Clarence Brown.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
