Barbara Frances Barnett Chase, age 66, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at her residence in Denison, Texas. Barbara Chase was born March 3, 1943 at Ballinger, Texas to James Douglas Barnett and Margaret LaVerne Thomas Barnett. She married Joseph C. Chase at San Angelo, Texas on August 24, 1991. Barbara was a public school teacher for many years in several schools in Texas and New Mexico. She loved children and enjoyed teaching. Some of the schools she taught at were Corpus Christi and Flower Bluff in Texas; Silver City, Albuquerque and Carlsbad in New Mexico; Llano, Westminster, San Angelo, Jasper, Bonham, Texas; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Mineral Wells and Tom Bean in Texas. In addition to the multiple places where she taught school, she also spent a summer in missions work in Puerto Escondido, Mexico where she fell in love with her husband Joe Chase. They later briefly returned back to San Angelo, Texas and soon married. After a small amount of time in San Angelo, she and Joe longed to return back to the mission field and serve. They later returned to Puerto Escondido and served as missionaries for a little over a year before returning back to Texas to be closer to family. After returning to Texas they still had a passion for missions. They took many courses on missions training and spent time sharing their passion and knowledge with others who also had a passion and a call for foreign missions. She was an active member of the Victory Life Church in Sherman and for the last few years in McKinney. She loved her family and enjoyed blessing her grandchildren with gifts and treats. She was known for her gracious giving of her time and love. She will be greatly missed. Barbara is survived by husband, Joseph C.
