Bailey Dickerson, age 89, of Celina, Texas passed away April 3, 2008. He was born February 28, 1919 in Collin County to John A. and Lola Mae (Hammer) Dickerson. He married Velma Bea Miller in 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a rancher and farmer in the Collin County area. Bailey was a former Collin County Commissioner. He worked as a building contractor and was a merchant in Weston. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Weston. Bailey proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Velma Bea (Miller) Dickerson of Celina; children, Lewis Dickerson and wife, Jerry of Celina and Doris Berry and husband, Tim of Celina; sister, Gladys Fowler of Garland; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Lola Mae Dickerson; son Jon Dickerson; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, Allen, Texas with Rev. Willie Green officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
