B.T. (Bill) Maynard

B.T. (Bill) Maynard of McKinney passed away on January 22, 2012. Born in Dallas, Texas on October 22, 1933 to William L. Maynard, Jr. and Frances Virginia Shultz. He married Wilma Louise Barnum of Enid, Oklahoma on May 19, 1951 in Rockwall, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; wife, Wilma and younger brother, Gerald F. Maynard. He is survived by his son, Jesse Maynard and daughter-in-law, Marilyn of Princeton; daughters, Dorothy Maynard of Fort Worth, Margaret Brown and son-in-law, Danny of Wylie and Virginia Maynard of Fort Worth; two grandsons and three granddaughters; four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. He served in the U.S Navy during the Korean War. He worked at a linotype machinist at the Dallas Times Herald for 38 years. B.T. was raised a MM in Richardson Lodge #1214 A.F. & A.M. in 1967. He was a past Master of Saint John’s Lodge #51 A.F. & A.M. McKinney in 1994. He served as a D.D.G.M. in 1998 Grand Lodge of Texas. B.T. was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the HELLA Shrine in Dallas, the Confederate Military Lodge of Research F. & A.M. in Alexander City, Al. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #96 in McKinney, a life member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp # 2 Columbia, TN and Camp #1588 Plano, TX. B.T. was an avid deer and bird hunter. He was a Hockey Referee for A-H-A US from 1968-1969 thru 1975-1976. B.T. was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church in McKinney. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Texas with Maj. Doug Duerksen US Army Ret. officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, McKinney, Texas.
