IN LOVING MEMORY

Austin James Robinson

Nov 30 1988 - Feb 26 2011

Austin James Robinson passed away on Saturday, February 26 in Lubbock, Texas. He was 22 years old. Austin was born in Dallas on November 30, 1988. He attended Vaughan Elementary, Ford Middle School, and Allen High School. He was a proud member of the Allen High School Eagle Band and the Texas Tech Goin' Band. Austin was a Music Education major at Texas Tech University, working on a Master's degree with Honors. He was an accomplished bassoonist and pianist and hoped one day to share his passion for music by teaching students. He studied piano under George Variames in Allen and bassoon under Marjorie Kirsch in Wylie. At Texas Tech he studied with Richard Meek. Austin had just begun student teaching at a middle school in Lubbock, and loved working with the students there. Music teachers and directors change students' lives. Our son's teachers certainly did. Honor Austin by thanking your child's teacher today. Austin is survived by his parents, John and Elise Robinson, a sister, Rebecca (whom he adored), grandmother Cathryn Robinson, aunt and uncle Janie and Robert Long, and cousins Travis, Wade, and Tyler, uncle and aunt Steven and Peggy Tufts, cousins Mary Brown and David Tufts. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 PM at the Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral home in McKinney (off Central Expressway, exit 38, Ridgeview Drive). In lieu of flowers the family asks that those who wish to contact the National Stuttering Association to make a donation in Austin's name to their youth program Please contact Tammy Flores, 800-937-8888, www.westutter.org, National Stuttering Association, 119 West 40th Street, New York, New York 10018.
