Audrey Turner Lopez

Audrey Turner Lopez, 87, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 5, 2010; born July 10, 1922, Hammond, Louisiana, to Samuel Roscoe and Ethel Brown Turner. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans until hurricane Katrina; Valedictorian of her class; loving, generous mother, fabulous seamstress, cook, and baker; secretary for 35 years at New York Life; loved to travel, especially on mother-daughter trips. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Homestead of McKinney Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice. Audrey is survived by daughters, Alice Ponseti (husband Thomas), Marie Wagner, Sylvia Chamosa (husband Manuel), Carol Short (husband Arthur), and Anita Krail (deceased husband Dave); eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2009 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to service. Entombment to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations to: Heart to Heart Hospice,1500 Waters Ridge Drive, #100, Lewisville, Texas 75057.
