Arvin Monroe Vestal

Arvin Monroe Vestal was born August 10, 1931 in Whitewright, Texas to Ronald Arvin Vestal and Lillian Ray Russell Vestal. He married Mable Lois Adair on August 6, 1956 in Covington, Indiana. He died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence in Whitewright, Texas at the age of 82.

Arvin served his nation in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. After several years of active duty he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve until retiring from the Navy in 1984. After his active service in the Navy, Arvin proudly served his community as a Dallas Police Officer. He retired in 1981 after 21 years. After retiring he lived his dream as a farmer. He was a member of the Whitewright Church of Christ.

Arvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife, Mable Vestal of Whitewright; daughter, Diane Vestal Williams and husband Richard of Trenton; daughter, Susan Vestal Perkins and husband David of Trenton; daughter, Shannon Vestal Meyer and husband Robert of Whitewright; grandchildren, Lance, Dustin and Addison Williams; Danielle Tyndell, Callie Perkins; Derek, Alexander and Jackson Meyer; great-granddaughters, Emerson, Lexington, Trinity, Ellie; brother, Foucheax Vestal of York, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Lillian Vestal; and  sisters, Alinda and Martha.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Mr. Frazier Conley. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Lance Williams, Dustin Williams, Addison Williams, Derek Meyer, Alexander Meyer and Jackson Meyer.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
