Arturo Renteria, Sr. of Celina, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in McKinney, TX.
He was born on June 22, 1931 in Cotulla, Texas. He married Olivia Reyes on September 16, 1952. Arturo primarily worked in construction and utility operations, After he retired, he worked as a ranch hand and enjoyed gardening and working outside with his animals. He was a faithful member of the Christian Chapel Assemblies of God where he served as Deacon and Board Member for six years. He was a Charter Member for eleven years. He accomplished many goals in his life and left a legacy for his family to carry on through the generations. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and church family.
He is survived by his seven children: Marina Rivera of Edcouch, TX, Frank and Blanca Rivera of Corpus Christi, TX, Rebecca and Joel Medina of Celina, TX, Fidel and Carol Rivera of Celina, TX, Norfie and Onesimo Martinez of Celina, TX, Arthur and Debbie Renteria of Celina, TX, and David and Judy Renteria of Dallas, TX. Arturo had twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Augustin Renteria and his adoring wife, Olivia Renteria.
Arturo Renteria’s family will continue to love and adore Him until they are all reunited once again in the presence of the Lord.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Christian Chapel Assembly of God in Prosper, Texas. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas.
