Arthur Maxwell, age 84, of McKinney, Texas, passed away November 5, 2014. Arthur was born March 17, 1930, in Brady, Texas, to Wilson and Ceola Mae (Newton) Maxwell. He married Polly Harris on March 16, 1990, in Bristow, Oklahoma. Arthur served as pastor at Hamilton Chapel Baptist Church in Frisco for thirty-three years. He was also a carpenter. Arthur proudly served in the United States Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Maxwell of McKinney, Texas; children, Vincent Maxwell and wife, Rita, Clarence Boyd and wife, Roxanne, Gloria Thornton, Carolyn Jackson, Johnnie McClure, Arthur Richardson, and Bryant Maxwell, all of McKinney, Texas; and sisters, Maetta Harris and Ethel Nobles, both of McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Maxwell, and step-son, Earl Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Mark Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
