Arthur Paul Hinrichs

Arthur Paul Hinrichs, of Howe, Texas passed away October 1, 2012 at the age of 70.  He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 4, 1942, to Walter Fred and Mildred (Dietrich) Hinrichs. He proudly served his country from December 1, 1960 thru September 1966, which included a tour in Vietnam, in the U.S. Marine Corp, as an aviation radar technician. On July 28, 1973, Arthur married Jo Riff at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Arthur graduated from Indiana-Purdue University, in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1974 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business while working for ITT as an electronic technician. After graduation, in 1974, he worked with GTE as an outside salesperson. Arthur remained with the company through various mergers and consolidations until December 2007, when he retired from Verizon as a GIS Marketing Analyst. He was an active and faithful member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod with church membership currently at Our Savior Lutheran Church, in McKinney, Texas, where he served his Lord in various capacities with a true servant’s heart. Arthur was a loving husband and father to his children, Troye Smith and Tony Hinrichs.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Jo Hinrichs of Howe, Texas; children, Troye Smith and husband Bill of Flower Mound, Texas, Tony Hinrichs and wife Julia of Double Oak, Texas; grandchildren, Allison, Austin and Gabrielle Smith; sister, Lois Landis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; adopted son, Darrold “Bear” Reed and wife Stephanie; adopted grandchildren, Jay Armstrong and Destinee Childers, Kristen, Derek and Katrina Smith, Chelsea and Maeghen Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, in McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Flower Mound Cemetery in Flower Mound, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., on Friday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2708 West Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071.
