Art Buford Clifton passed away on October 19, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born to Oland and Naomi (Standifer) Clifton on November 14, 1926 in Olney, Texas. Art proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Cisco Junior College and Southern Methodist University School of Law. Art had a long career as an attorney in Dallas and Collin counties. He was a proud member of the NRA. Art married Marilyn Smith on June 9, 1984 in Allen, Texas. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Fairview, Texas.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Marilyn Clifton of Plano, Texas; children, Camara Clifton of Wyoming, Brent Clifton and wife Colleen of San Antonio, Texas, Dierdre Tinker and husband Joe of Copper Canyon, Texas, Holly Clifton and Kevin Sumrall of Plano, Texas, Misty Clifton of Allen, Texas, Alicia Perrine and partner Robin Byford of Plano, Texas and Michelle Pruitt and husband Wendell of Kansas; grandchildren, Dustin, Andrew, Logan, George, Bonnie, William and Micaela; great-grandchildren, Alaric, Aeneas, Lilah and one baby on the way; and his beloved dog Mario.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Billie Clifton; sister, Joyce Belknap; and brothers, Jimmy Clifton and Curtis Clifton.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. An inurnment will take place at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at a later date.
