Armando Ramirez, Jr., age 74, of Plano, Texas, passed away July 20, 2015. Armando was born June 25, 1941, in San Benito, Texas, to Armando and Juanita (De La Fuente) Ramirez, Sr. He married Glad Shepard Gillette on February 9, 1985, in Dallas, Texas. Armando, an electrical engineer with E-Systems/Raytheon, retired after thirty-three years and loved his job every day. He helped design, build, and launch the first spy satellite for the USA. Armando loved serving the Lord. He loved his family, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Armando was a voracious reader and enjoyed gardening, tinkering with things and was also interested in photography, history, and science. He really enjoyed cooking the Thanksgiving meal each year as well as making tamales. Armando was a member of Grace Bible Church in Dallas, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Glad Ramirez of Plano, Texas; daughters, Jennifer Phillips and husband, Nathan of Little Elm, Texas and Christina Head and husband, Jason of Frisco, Texas; son, Samuel Armando Ramirez of Plano; grandchildren, Jaina Head, Alex Head, and Jacquelyn Phillips; sisters, Diana Hernandez of San Benito, Texas, Gracie Casas of McAllen, Texas, and Linda Ramirez also of San Benito; sisters-in-law, Maggie Ramirez and Linda Jean Mendez; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rolly Ramirez, Omar Ramirez, and Arnold Ramirez, and brothers-in-law, Juan Casas and Jesus Hernandez.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, at Grace Bible Church,11306 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas, 75229. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, July 27, 2015, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
