Anthony G. Hancock, age 63, of Allen, Texas passed away November 29, 2011. He was born October 5, 1948 in Paris, Texas to Charles Henry Hancock and Gerline (Fair) Hancock. Anthony and Bonita met in high school and were married in 1968. They were married for 43 years. He proudly served for 3 years in the Naval Air Force and for 3 years in the National Guard. In 1971, Anthony was hired as the 4th police officer ever in Allen, Texas and in 1975 he became the 2nd Chief of Police ever of Allen, Texas. In 1979, Anthony continued his career with the Collin County Sheriff’s Department where he attained the rank of Lieutenant and then retired in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Hancock of Allen, Texas; daughter, Cherie Hancock of Allen, Texas ; mother, Gerline Hancock; sister, Debbie Jones of Point, Texas and father-in-law, Hubert Powell of Allen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hancock; grandparents, Gay and Ova Hancock and Claude and Cordy Fair; and aunt, Patsy Hadaway. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
