Annie Malone Erwin Christie, age 75, died February 3, 2005, at her Granbury residence. Annie or “Loney” was born on May 9, 1929, in McKinney, Texas, the first daughter of John Caleb Erwin, Jr. and Annie Malone (Barbee) Erwin. She married Bill Corbett Christie on December 1, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church in McKinney. She attended McKinney Public Schools and graduated from Boyd High School in 1947. She attended Agnes Scott College in Decater, Georgia, and graduated with an Associate Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in 1950. She was reared in the First Presbyterian Church in McKinney and attended First Christian Church in McKinney with her family. She later attended First Presbyterian Church in Granbury. Her hobbies included McKinney Jeanne d’Arc Literary Club and McKinney Garden Club. She had great faith in God and loved natural beauty and birds. She also enjoyed travel and writing, but her real treasure was her family who will miss her! She is survived by her husband, Bill C. Christie of McKinney, Texas; sons, Bill Corbett Christie, Jr. and wife, Debbie of San Antonio, Texas, John Erwin Christie and wife, Nanny of Aledo, Texas, and Timothy Alan Christie and fiancee, Joanna Neil of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Candice Christie of Dallas, Texas, and Kelly Pemberton and husband, Tom of Lubbock, Texas; grandsons, Caleb Christie and Joseph Christie, both of Aledo, Texas; sister, Betty Erwin Dunham of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. J. C. Erwin and mother, Annie Malone Erwin. Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 6, 2005, with Dr. Neill Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Samaritan House of McKinney, 212 McMakin Street, McKinney, TX 75069; Heard Natural Science Museum, 1 Nature Place, McKinney, TX 75069; or the charity of your choice.
