Anne Camp, Age 90, of Muleshoe, Texas passed away November 27, 2007, in Allen, Texas. She married Bernis Camp in 1941 in San Angelo, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe, Texas. She is survived by her son, Robert Camp & wife, Carolyn of Indiana, Pennsylvania, daughters, Susan Fogarty and husband, Tom of Richardson, Patte Camp of McKinney, Carol Stimson & husband, Dave of Plano and Joyce Camp & fiancée, Richard Rue of McKinney; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernis Camp in 1995 and her daughter, Becky Keith in 2001. Anne Camp was very devoted to her family and community and very modest of her accomplishments. Mrs. Camp had a long and active career as the Muleshoe Area Public Librarian. She held the position for 32 years, postponing retirement to computerize the library cataloging system. She passed a love of reading on to so many people in the community. She dedicated numerous hours to the Summer Reading Program and weekly Story Hour for children. Anne Camp dreamed for years of a new library with much more room for additional books and better facility for the Story Hour. The dream came true in 1972 when she oversaw the building of the current library. She has since been honored with The Anne Camp Meeting Room at the facility. Mrs. Camp was selected as the City of Muleshoe’s Woman of the Year in 1978. Anne Camp was active in many organizations that provided wonderful support, funds and education to many people. She was an active member of the Friends of the Library, Tales and Trails of Bailey County History Book Committee (a 400 page book compiled with family stories of the first seventy years 1918-1988 of settlement in Bailey County), Jenny Slippers, Bailey County Cemetery Association, Meals on Wheels and many more. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2007 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Sean Ferry officiating. Funeral services will be under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors. On Saturday, December 1, 2007, funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe, Texas with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Bailey County Cemetery. Funeral Services in Muleshoe will be under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
