Mrs. Anna Lou Gentle, age 87, of McKinney, Texas passed away September 8, 2004, in Plano, Texas. She was born February 23, 1917, in Sachse, Texas to John George and Annie Catharine (Poynter) Rothfus. On May 8, 1936, she married Marvin Lloyd Anderson in Rockwall, Texas. After his death, she married Claude Emit Gentle on June 10, 1954, in Murphy, Texas. Mrs. Gentle was a clerk for Lone Star Gas and TXU for 27 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She survived by her daughters, Christie Clark and husband, Jim of Allen, Texas, Linda Goins and husband, Harold of McKinney, and Sandra Duncan of Allen; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Rothfus of Celina, Texas and David Rothfus of San Antonio; sisters, Clara Hensley of Richardson, Texas, Dollie Kissinger and Martha Boyd both of Dallas, Texas, Mary Barger of Allen, Virginia McKissick of Arlington, Texas and Jerry Edwards of Carrollton, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Marvin Lloyd Anderson; second husband, Claude Gentle; son, Marvin Doyle Anderson; sister, Elisabeth Reeves; and brother, Bill Rothfus. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Lee Poe officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.
