Funeral Services for Ann Elizabeth Taylor Skaer, 86 year old Mesquite resident, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 20, 2016 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Brother Wayne Tumey will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday February 19, 2016 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.
Ann was born August 26, 1929 at Leonard. Her parents were Paul and Frances “Sunshine” Tarpley Taylor. She married Jacob William “Jake” Skaer August 27, 1949. She was a graduate of Leonard High School and attended North Texas State College. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Fate, Texas and a founding member of CEDIA. She was the Director of Communications for Video Accessories Plus. She passed away Saturday February 13, 2016 at the Texas Regional Medical Center of Sunneyvale.
She is survived by her sons and their mates: Bill Skaer and T.J. Griffin of Mesquite, Paul Skaer and Pam Hall of Seagoville and Erick and Margie Skaer of Mesquite; her daughters and their mates: Debbie and Michael Tallent of Garland and Gretchen and Wayne Tumey of Royse City; her twelve grandchildren: Christopher and Sarah Pruet, Melissa and Jeremy Hyatt, Paul “L.P.” Skaer and fiancé Tracie True, Krista and Terry Gates, Justin Hall, Jennifer and Jeremy Koonce, Amanda Barner, Erick Taylor Skaer, Clint Tumey and fiancé Melissa Hampton, Clay Tumey and Candice Tumey, Colby and Kyle Smith, Laynie Tumey and Jake Tumey; 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Sue Sanders, a grandson, Daniel Tallent, and her aunt, Elizabeth “Sunny” Foster.
