Ann (Taylor) Hays was born to Marshall and Naomi Taylor in Navo, Denton County, Texas on September 9, 1935. She passed away at home in McKinney, Texas on March 30, 2011, after a five year courageous struggle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Button Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Hays of McKinney, Texas, children: Mike Hays of Plano, Texas, Karie Dalton and husband Arthur “Sug” of Prosper, Texas and Kelli Downs and husband Bill of Fairview, Texas. A sister, Joan Taylor of Denton, Texas and a brother, Tom Taylor and wife Pam of Springtown, Texas. Grandchildren: Brad Nichols and wife Summer, Bree Nichols, Danielle Downs, Chris Hays, Jessica Hays and Danny Hays and one great granddaughter, Ellie Ann Nichols. Also, several nieces and nephews. Ann grew up in the Navo Community and attended schools in Navo and Denton but transferred to Prosper High School in 1950 and graduated in 1953. After graduation she worked for Huey & Phillip Hotel Supply in Dallas, Texas and married Bill Hays on March 26, 1955 in Prosper, Texas. She also worked for Parkland National Bank in the state of Washington and then for Chance Vought (LTV) in Grand Prairie, Texas. She attended NMSU in Las Cruces, New Mexico while living in New Mexico. Ann was a wonderful wife, a beautiful lady, loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to cook, play bridge, travel, sing, play the piano, square dance and visit with her many friends. She loved her church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. Over her lifetime she was very active in all the Methodist churches that she was a member and taught Sunday school for the younger children. Mostly, she enjoyed spending the time with her children and grandchildren. They were the love of her life. Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 1, 2011, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas O. Brumett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may me made to the Growing Hearts Fund at First United Methodist Church, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069 or the American Cancer Society, 8900 John W. Carpenter Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247.
