Alvin “Big Al” Duncan, age 70, of Allen, Texas, passed away October 22, 2005, at his home. He was born August 15, 1935, to Ober and Myrtle (Cox) Duncan. On July 29, 1978, he married Robin Valerie Kirby in Irving, Texas. Mr. Duncan retired from the Dallas Fire Department after 19 years and worked for the Dallas Police Department for 8 years. He also served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Robin Duncan of Allen, Texas; children, Kathryn Laughlin and husband Philip of Dallas, Texas; David Duncan and wife, Kathy of Little Elm, Texas; Douglas Duncan, Keith Duncan and wife, Susan, all of Allen, Texas; Mark James and wife, Stacy of Frisco, Texas; Matthew James and wife, Alice, and Brent James and wife, Francie, all of Wylie; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Martha Wendle preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00, Tuesday, October 25, 2005, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
