Mr. Alton B. Corry, age 97, of Ennis, Texas, passed away October 25, 2006, in Ennis. Alton was born January 18, 1909, in Nevada, Texas to parents Benjamin and Mattie (Brummett) Corry. He married Florence Evelyn Pope on September 18, 1932 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Mr. Corry was a home builder in the McKinney area and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughters, Betty Crump and husband Dan of Ennis, Texas, Edna Woods and husband Don of Rockport, Texas; son, Charles Corry and wife Shirley of Yantis, Texas; brother, Frank Corry and wife Joy of Ingleside, Texas; sisters, Mattie Maloney of Dallas, Texas, Oleta Jenkins and husband Doyle of McKinney, Texas, Evelyn Applebee of Henderson, Texas, Dorothy Ronan of McKinney, Texas, Mary Schuler of McKinney, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; his sister, Bessie Loftice; brothers, Houston Corry, Brummett Corry and Tom Corry. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 27, 2006 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas, with Rev. Dick Moody officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service with interment following at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
