Alta Christine Bradbury Salley was born February 17, 1930 at Benton, Arkansas to Thomas Franklin Bradbury and Esther May Pitcock Bradbury. She married Horace Franklin Salley on February 22, 1947 at Benton, Arkansas. She died Sunday, October 9, 2011 in Denton, Texas at the age of 81. Alta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Carpenter's Chapter, Sherman, Texas. She was a Past Matron and a 50 year member. She was a retired farmer. She is survived by daughter, Vera Fahy Salley of Denton; daughter, Wera Salley Worthan and husband Don of Waco; grandchildren, Paul Hamm of Irving; Salley Knox of Gilmer; Jessica Lara of Denton; John Knox of Azle; 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Horace Salley; son, Curtis Joe Salley; grandsons, Ronald and Frank Hamm; 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. A private burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
