Alma Laverne Winans

Alma Laverne Winans, age 90, passed away in her home on December 30, 2015. She was born March 28, 1925 to Joe and Sadie (Greathouse) Yackley in Pittsfield, Illinois. Alma married Vinton Winans on March 1, 1943. She was most recently a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas and formerly a member of Central Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois where she served as a deaconess. She was employed as a Home Health Care Aide for many years by Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois; and in North Texas by Dove Home Health Care and Farmington Home Healthcare where she received Employee of the Year in 2006. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Bouldin and husband Rodney of Williamsburg, Virginia; Cheryl Clarkson and husband Charlie of Southlake, Texas; and Yvonnie Chmielewski and husband Carl of McKinney, Texas. Survivors also include nephews, Dwight Yackley of Naperville, Illinois; Dwayne Yackley of Pittsfield, Illinois; Grandchildren, Kate Clarkson Afshar of Del Mar, California; Charles Clarkson of Denver, Colorado; Kristen Bouldin of Williamsburg , Virginia; Jenna Chmielewski of Dallas, Texas; Briana Chmielewski of Calabasas, California; Kyle Chmielewski of McKinney, Texas and great granddaughter Sara Afshar.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Vinton Winans and her brother Lyndle Yackley.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas. Interment will be held in Quincy, Illinois at Greenmount Cemetery on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:30pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross for Rowlett/Garland tornado victims.
