Alma “Monk” Thompson, age 99, of McKinney, Texas passed away March 3, 2010. She was born September 6, 1910 in Garrett, Texas to Leonard Franklin and Alma (Tankersley) Reeder. On November 10, 1927 she married R. Pruitt Thompson in McKinney, Texas. She was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church formerly known as the First Baptist Church of Fairview. Alma was a seamstress in town for many years. She is survived by her sister, Allie Rose “Sissy” Little of Waxahachie, Texas and several nieces, nephews and other loving realtives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Franklin and Alma Reeder; husband, R. Pruitt Thompson; sister, Dora Harper; brothers, Leonard “Buster” Reeder and Walter “Snooks” Reeder. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
