Funeral services for Alma Fern Key Shaffer, 91 year old Wylie resident, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday January 5th at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Dr. Gene Key and David Davy will officiate. Burial will be in the East Shady Grove Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday January 4th. Mrs. Shaffer was born October 16, 1917 at Leonard, Texas. Her parents were Frank and Minnie Jacobs Key. Her church affiliation was with the Baptist and Pentecostal Churches. She died Friday January 2nd at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at Wylie. She is survived by her son, Jerry Shaffer and his wife, Ollene, of Wylie; her grandson, Kyle Shaffer, of Leonard; her granddaughter, Jennie Hammer, Jenni’s husband Matthew and their three sons, Isaac, Zachary and Joel of Austin; her granddaughter Vanessa Orr, Vanessa’s son, Brad, his wife, Jenny, and daughter, Avery of Murphy, and Vanessa’s daughter, Melissa Hearon and her husband, Jason, of Wylie; her granddaughter, Jeri Leonard, Jeri’s husband, Jeff and their children, Bethany, Mitchell and Cole. She is also survived by her half-sisters Oletha Ford of Mineral Wells, Sarah Frances Coon of Mineral Wells and Thelma Lou Smith of Torrance, California, and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: M.J. Shaffer; her parents: Frank and Minnie Jacobs Key; her brothers: Andrew and Orville Key; her half-brother: Frank Key and her half-sisters: Mildred Sheehan and Katherine Arterburn. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
