Alma Gladys Davis, age 80, of Alba, Texas, passed from this earth with her family by her side, on June 13, 2011, in Alba, Texas. She was born on January 5, 1931, in Pickton, Texas, to Hillie and Plumer (Wilbanks) Johnson. On September 4, 1948 Alma married her husband, Doyel Davis, in McKinney, Texas. She spent her life as a loving wife and mother. She was a seamstress for many years in McKinney, Texas. Alma was a member of the First Christian Church of Mineola, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 62 years; daughters, Debrah Votaw and husband Ron, Wanda Smith and husband Gary, and Donna Garrett and husband David; grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Christi Forte, Christi and Will Schmied, Jennifer Sims, Ami and Paul Nation, Daphne Ford, Megan Forte, and Heath and Jessica Bethel; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Roberts and Vonnie Neely; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Alma was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 PM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
