Alla Beatrice Feasel

Alla Beatrice Tillerson Kinney Feasel, 90, of Richardson, Texas passed away April 22, 2008 subsequent to suffering a severe stroke. Born in Weston, Texas to Raymond and Jessie Tillerson, Beatrice grew up in the rural area outside of Celina, Texas. She graduated from the Alla Hubbard and Celina High Schools. Beatrice then went on to receive her nursing degree from the McKinney, Texas School of Nursing in 1938 and later attended post-graduate courses at Baylor University in Dallas, Texas and later furthered her nursing career through courses at UCLA. Beatrice was first employed as a nurse at the Wichita State Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. She then moved to California, where she was employed at Long Beach General Hospital in Long Beach, California and Mercy and Kern General Hospitals in Bakersfield, California. Beatrice then enlisted in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps. and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1945. She resigned her commission in 1947 in order to return to civilian life in Bakersfield, where she continued her nursing career. Beatrice later retired from the Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, California, with a cumulative total of over 46 years in the nursing profession. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jessie Tillerson; sister, Naoma Cowart; and two husbands, W.E. (Bill) Kinney, and Edgar (Ed) Feasel. Beatrice is survived by one stepson, James Kinney of Channel Island, California; one brother, G.W. Tillerson and wife, Helen Tillerson of Greenville, Texas; one sister, Louise Pruitt Powers, of Richardson, Texas, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 3:00PM with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Turrentine, Jackson, Morrow Funeral Home, Celina, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 266, Celina, Texas 75009, or Odyssey Health Care (Hospice), 6440 Harvest Hill Road, Ste. 200, Dallas, Texas 75230.
