Alex Russak

Mr. Alex Russak, age 93, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 25, 2011. He was born on November 14, 1917, in Plock, Poland, to Israel and Rae (Laderman) Russak. Alex came to the United States in 1929. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Alex was a forensic technician for the City of Miami for 30 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Alex retired to his cabin in Boone, North Carolina. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Balsley and husband Greg of McKinney, Texas; sister, Renee Ellenbogen of New York; Nieces, Eileen Kleinkopf and husband Lewis of Maine, Carol Biegel and husband Howie of New York, Naomi Stine and husband John of New York; nephew, Rudolph Ellenbogen and wife Alaine of New York; numerous great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Russak; parents, Israel and Rae Russak; and sister, Mae Katz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus at www.chafoundation.org. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 12:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, in Allen, Texas, officiated by Dr. Danny Buster. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
