Alene Roth, age 57, of Celina, Texas, lost her valiant long time battle with cancer on June 23, 2011. She was born August 21, 1953, in Corona, California to William Albert and Charlene Mae (Lengel) Roth. She was a member of Waters Edge Lutheran Church, Frisco, Texas. She is survived by her brother, William E. Roth of Huntington Beach, California; sister, Linda Roth Souder of Celina, Texas; nieces, Valor and Payton Souder of McKinney, Texas; nephews, Christopher and Benjamin Roth of Huntington Beach, California; aunt, Emilie C. Powell of Roseville, California; and uncle, Stan D. Powell of Las Vegas, Nevada. Although she had no children of her own, she was a loving Christian mentor and surrogate mother to all four of her nieces and nephews. Alene was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Waters Edge Church, in Frisco, Texas, with Rev. Mark Schaefer officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
