Alden Bryce Sparman, Sr.

Alden Bryce Sparman, Sr., age 87 of Plano, Texas, passed away August 29, 2014 in Plano, Texas. He was born August 12, 1927 in May Day, Kansas to Henry Albert and Marghertia (Telford) Sparman. Alden attended Oklahoma State University. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy. He worked for Mrs. Tucker’s Foods in Sherman and subsequently with Anderson Clayton Research Center in Richardson where he retired. Alden then moved on to work for Enersyst, Inc. Foods. He married Charlene Stephens March 1, 1950 in Texarkana, Arkansas. Alden was a member of First United Methodist Church of Plano. He was also a thirty-second degree mason being a member of the Downtown Plano Lodge. Alden was an avid post card collector.

He is survived by his loving wife Charlene Sparman of Plano, Texas; son, Bryce Sparman of Plano, Texas; daughter, Karen Rutledge and husband Bill of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Pamala Roach and husband Michael and Christopher Rutledge and wife Kim; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Rutledge.

Alden was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marghertia Sparman and son, Stephen Albert Sparman.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
