Alan James Hein

Alan James Hein went to meet with our Lord on October 3, 2011.  He passed away at home in Walsenburg, Colorado at the age of 61. 

He was born August 22, 1950 in Polson, Montana. 

He spent most of his adult life working in construction, beginning in Colorado building bridges and highways.  Most of that time his position was superintendent, manager or administrator.  He prepared and managed annual budgets for construction companies and cities.  He hired, trained and supervised from 25 to 200 personnel.  Alan later moved to Texas where he worked as superintendent for Hess Paving Co. in Corpus Christi.  From there he became superintendent of streets and sanitation for the city of Portland, Texas before going to work for the city of Farmersville, Texas in January 1992.  After 17 years he gave up his position of City Manager/Director of Public Works and moved to Walsenburg, Colorado and assumed the position of City Administrator.  A short time after dicovering he had cancer he retired August 9, 2010.  He battled his illness for another 18 months.  After numerous surgeries and many treatments he became tired and ready to go home.  Most important  Alan was a Christian man and a good Christian leader for his family. 

Alan is survived by his wife Jane Ann who continues to reside at their family home in Walsenburg, Colorado; son, Jesse Hein, daughter, Criket Jay Kent and Randy Lee Berry, also survived by his sisters Anita Edwards, Beth Wilkinson and Lynn Stuts.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hein and mother Evelyn Elfers Hein.
