IN LOVING MEMORY

Adelaide Elizabeth Rowden

Mar 30 1952 - Oct 29 2013

Surrounded by her children, Adelaide Elizabeth Rowden, age 61, passed away at her home in Plano on October 29, 2013, after a three year battle with cancer. She was born in Joliet, Illinois, on March 30, 1952, the second child of Janet Elizabeth (McMicken) and Edward Francis White, Jr. Married to Rolf Rowden on September 1, 1984, the couple were blessed with two beautiful children, Sarah and Travis. Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf, and her brother, Edward Francis White III.

Adelaide is survived by her daughters, Sarah Rowden of Plano, and Jennifer Lindemann of Needville, Texas; son, Travis Rowden of Plano; son-in-law, Jeremy Lindemann; and grandsons, Jacob and Jonathan Lindemann as well as cousins, Nancy Worst of Austin, Mary Jane Worst of Houston, Sally W. Burleson of Bellville, Texas, and David & Sandy Worst of Corpus Christi.

To capture the warmth and joyous spirit of Adelaide in words can be difficult. Early in her life, it was apparent that others responded positively to her wit, quirky artistic talent, and fun loving spirit. As an educator, she touched the lives of all she met – students, parents, & colleagues. People were drawn to her caring and thoughtful nature. Her upbeat “Pollyanna” personality reminded others to stay positive and look on the bright side of life.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 1 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road in Plano, Texas 75075.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center in Dallas, donation earmarked for Adelaide’s favorite project, Stathmin Anti-Stathmin 1, which was an innovative and caring treatment she believed to be exceptional. Please visit the website at http://marycrowley.org or call 1-866-90CANCER to make your donation.
