Addie Luella Dixon Jagours

Addie Luella Dixon Jagours was born October 27, 1928. She was the daughter of Major and Luella Dixon, who preceded her in death. To this union was born two children, Addie and her sister, Audelia Hortense Dixon Johnson who preceded her in death. She was a graduate from E.S. Doty High School in McKinney, Texas. She went on to Southwestern Business School in Dallas, Texas then to TWU in Denton, Texas. She began to teach at the First Head Start Program, and also worked at Bryans Day Care. She later taught in the McKinney Independent School District working with special needs children of all ages at several schools in McKinney until her retirement in 1992. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher at St. James CME, where her husband last pastored. On December 15th, 1954, she married the love of her life, her best friend and partner in life, Rev. Thomas E. Jagours who preceded her in death. To this union was born one daughter, Charlotte Denise Jagours, whom she leaves to mourn. She also leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews and cousins and a beautiful bouquet of friends. Also, Ms. Angelia D. Lee, who was her student, Tammy McKinney, Cynthia Allen and Azel Griffin who all were her caregivers until God called her home, and who all were like daughters. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Larry Jagours, Rev. Wheatley Bell and Rev. Winston Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
