Ada Faye Williams, age 77, of Fairview, Texas, passed away on April 17, 2014 in McKinney, Texas. She was born January 17, 1937 to Percy L. and Donnie (Watson) Barksdale in McKinney, Texas. Ada grew up in McKinney where she graduated from McKinney High School in 1955. She married Charles “Chuck” Williams on December 20, 1958 in McKinney, Texas. Ada graduated from North Texas State College, now known as University of North Texas, with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. She worked as a school teacher in Dallas and later for the Allen ISD where she retired in 2004. Ada was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Allen, Texas, was a member of The Texas Association of Retired Teachers and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband Charles “Chuck” Williams of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Dawn Horton and husband Scott of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Horton and Will Horton; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Donnie Barksdale.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
