Ada Laverne Verdone

Ada Laverne Verdone age 88 of McKinney, TX passed away December 20, 2012. She was born June 8, 1924 in Spencer, NE to Bruno and Louisa (Korth) Boettcher. Ada married Jack Verdone on September 1, 1944 in Kearney, NE. She primarily was a homemaker. Ada taught at St. Walters Catholic School and worked in a local bank in Roselle, IL. She loved to enthusiastically dance country western, the jitterbug and other forms of dances. Ada was a gifted artist with many talents. She loved to draw, paint, sew and all types of artistic crafts. Coming from a farming family of 12 siblings, she was self-taught in many things. Ada enjoyed gardening, had a very “green thumb”, and tended to her rose gardens and many other floral species. She grew many herbs, edible items and was a very accomplished cook. Ada loved her entire family and they loved her dearly. She is and will be missed. Ada had a beautiful smile and giving personality to all she knew and loved.

She is survived by her husband Jack Verdone; daughters, Christine McTague and Nadine Hartley; grandchildren, Tanya Biles, Michelle Wyatt, Michael McTague, Mark Hartley; great-grandchildren, Trey, Jacqualyn, Mikenzi, Gavin, Triston, Brody, and Skylar; sister, Doris Pierce and additional loving relatives.

Ada was preceded in death by parents, Bruno and Louisa Boettcher; three brothers, and seven sisters.

She will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
