A. D. Griffin

Arthur Dale “A. D.” Griffin, Jr., a resident of Plano, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2009, at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Texas. A. D. was born December 15, 1933 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, and The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. A. D. proudly served in the United States Army for two years as an intelligence analyst. His business career consisted of executive positions with Mobil Chemical, Phillip Morris Industries, and Dixico, Inc. A. D. retired as owner of Griffin Packaging. While he lived in intense pain the last several years of his life, he never complained and was a joy to his family and friends. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of the Holy Communion in Dallas and felt blessed to have as his priest and friend Fr. Jeff Baker. A. D. was also a friend of Bill Wilson for twenty-two years. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons, Dale Griffin and wife, Ann of Houston, Texas and Tom Griffin and wife, Suzie of Allen, Texas; four grandchildren, Hannah Griffin and Kyle Griffin and Megan Atkinson and Rachel Atkinson; and brother, Lee Griffin and wife, Barrie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Dale and Catherine S. Griffin. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Church of the Holy Communion in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Communion, 17405 Muirfield Dr., Dallas, Texas, 75287 or to the charity of your choice.
